The Entertainer
When you’re out and about doing activities which are not exciting for your kids, what do you do to keep them up and entertained? This would include situations when parents need to do something but have no choice but to tag the kids along. For us, the iPhone proved to be a good entertainer. We loaded it with heaps of free games and though it is in ‘play’ a lot of times, we didn’t really need to tap our iphone warranty for anything. It just kept going on and on and on. That also means, that whenever we need an entertainer, then we have something to tap on.

Borrowing from Guinea Pigs
Last weekend, we bought a pack of carrots mainly for my kids’ pet guinea pigs. And surprise, surprise. That evening, I realised that I do not have carrots to be used for dinner! So, I had to ‘borrow’ from the guinea pigs. Of course I had to let the kids know how important it is to borrow from their pets as vegetables are important! Found it a good launchpad to do the healthy food talk as asking them to read about colon cleanse reviews is probably not yet in their interest. But yes, I borrowed from a guinea pig. Question is, do I need to pay them back?

Triple Treat
We had a triple treat this evening. We baked three cakes. While they’re all from the same batter, we did some sort of cake design competition at home with my kids. To make sure we it is gentle to weight loss products, we took out a bit of sugar than what was listed on the recipe. The result was great. But more than that, the actual process of baking with my kids was fantastic.

Hunting Ideas
I have been trying to experiment on a few things in my kitchen. But now I have come to a point where I need more ideas. I would be really grateful if you can share some really great ideas or even recipes for me to try out. I would prefer those which would not be heavy on needing a fat burner diet pill. Something light, something savoury would be great. I’ll be waiting.

Liking
It is definitely a nice feeling when your kids like things you are doing. And more than that, it feels great when they try to follow or imitate these. I’ve been into cooking lately and my kids are not just recipients of the end product. They don’t want to just sit down to eat as who knows they may eventually have to lose what they’ve eaten and need apidexin reviews to get going. They want to get involved. Do the actual cooking! And yes, it is a great bonding time whenever we do some cooking together.

Oh Be Careful Little Eyes
An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Yes we have probably heard that saying time and time again. And now as parents there is more reason for us to be reminded of it. Be it from keeping the eyes healthy by having appropriate lighting lighting where our kids are reading, to ensuring they keep the volume down to protect hearing whenever they plug in their headphones to listen to music. But how far we can watch after them has its limits at some point. I guess what’s important is for them to remember what we have taught them as that they can carry with them wherever, whenever.

Sleepy Heads
Our youngest daughter CN would normally take some time before she gets to sleep. Usually, she would ask for her favorite song to be played over and over. It’s almost like sleeping pills that would just rock her to sleep. Of course, there are nights that she would just doze off without any ‘extra’ incentives. But tonight she did get quick to sleep when her dad came with her as their sleepy heads shared pillow and they cuddle in some comfortable blanket.

Home Filing
As the family grows, the need for organizing various things at home also increases. Not only does it involve organizing toys, clothing, and other miscellaneous ‘white elephants’, but also involves managing paperwork. Bills, personal documents, school work, and other documents can easily get out of hand. But thanks to scanners and some scanning software, paperwork can be more manageable as they can be converted to physically invisible files once they are stored on the hard drive. But of course, this introduces another organization must: hard drive backups! Now who says running a family isn’t complex?

Fun with Robotic Speech
A couple of weeks back, the entire family decided to play around with some speech functionalities in our computer just before we all went to sleep. The computer can take on commands by interpreting spoken language. It was quite challenging to speak ‘clearly’ enough for the computer to recognize exactly what we’re saying. I think the text-to-speech was a better function though it was really some unnatural robotic speech similar to that in some auto insurance quotes advertisement on television. The kids enjoyed the time because after all, they’re the ‘techy’ types. For me, what was more memorable was the great time sharing laughs as a family.

Do the Maths
We were having a chat with some friends over the weekend. One of our conversation was about how we now tend to ‘forget’ our age. Well, we justified that it is not something done ‘intentionally’. Or as an afterthought, is it just a matter of a mathematical challenge to do the calculation. But really, I think we’ll get there and no hair loss cures or other anti-aging paraphernalia will stop things. As parents, there is that prize of seeing our kids grow. Or perhaps we’re just too busy watching them that we forget counting our age. And this is not just another rationalization.

Cold Cream
Winter is now here and so is dry skin. It seems like being born in tropical climate makes skin less elastic when put to cold. It is not something you can cure with the best wrinkle cream. So last weekend, we went to the shops to hunt the best dry skin repair product. Well, of course, we can’t tell until we try it ourselves. Yes, it will be used not just by me but by everyone in the family. I will post it here if we find a great one.
