Getting Value
Nowadays, it is important to get the value for money. With a lot of competing products or services, it is important to get a good assessment of the brand you intend to purchase. Other than the brand, it is also important to purchase from good merchants. Among others, things to look for may include the return or refund policy, delivery service, and after sales customer service. There are several sites which present forums where people can share reviews or experiences with a certain product or merchant. Comparison Shopping Websites are also useful as they provide a site to do both the reviewing and shopping at the same time.

Lunch Box
Other than preparing school lunch box for my daughter RD, I also usually pack some lunch for my husband. Lunch tends to be quite expensive if bought from food court or restaurants. Hence, it makes more sense to just get the ingredients from the market or grocery and simply have a ‘DIY’ lunch. The cost is probably less than 50% of what would be spent on eating out. And besides, having a home cooked lunch gives the assurance of what there is in the box.

Christmas Edition
It is that time of the year when everyone prepares for a simple (or not so simple) something to give to family, friends, and loved ones. Even with the financial crunch, I am quite sure that each one will still go for a stretch to share something. In fact, a lot of companies will still likely go ahead with the typical promotional business gifts which are sent out during this season. Whatever happens, I think the Christmas spirit of giving will just go on.

Birthday Invites for CN
Little CN got received some birthday invitations from two of her friends in school. These are the first ones she received from schoolmates. This made her so happy and excited. It probably made her feel a bit older since this time, it is her who will be sent off for a party and not her big sister. It is her turn to go to a friend’s house and stay for a party. Whew! Time flies really fast. My baby who usually attends parties with me is now ready to do it on her own… or at least just for two hours.

The Missing Screw
A couple of nights ago, my daughter CN came to me to ask help to look for her eyeglasses. After a bit of looking here and there, I finally found it and handed it to her. It was not too long after that and she went to her dad with her eyeglasses and again asked for help. This time she told that ’something is wrong’ with her glasses. So my husband took the glasses and as he did not notice anything wrong with the frame, he readily concluded that it must be the dirty lens that CN is complaining about. So my husband went on to grab some tissue to wipe it with but as he was starting with the first lens, CN was still not convinced that things are going ok. She kept on telling that ’something is wrong’ with the glasses.
My husband only realized what was really wrong when he finished cleaning the first lens. On attempting to clean the next one, he figured out what CN really meant. There was no lens to clean! And so it was a mad hunt for that tiny screw. It wasn’t long and I found the missing screw. It would have been a big thing if was completely lost. On a second thought, knowing great shops like ZenniOptical eases the pressure on the challenges of keeping the screw attached to a kid’s eyeglasses.

Playing with Grandma
Little CN has been spending a lot of play time with my mother who is visiting us here in Sydney. Yesterday, while I was in another room, I heard some unusual ‘music’ coming from the computer where CN and Grandma were playing. After looking over their shoulders, I realized that they have gone to this famous video sharing site and have gone through different videos relating to her favorite shows. Of course, Dora is on the frontline. Anyway, everything is fine because Grandma is there to do a filter on what CN gets to see.

Out of Touch
My mother who is visiting us here in Sydney missed a call to her mobile phone. It took her quite a while thinking about who it is who might have called her. I just comforted her by saying that if the call was really important, then that person would definitely call back again. I remembered that is in these times that services such as reverse number Canada lookup would come in handy.

Hillsong 25th Anniversary
Last Sunday the 2nd of November, we attended the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Hillsong Church here in Australia. The celebration was held at Cockle Bay in Sydney. The venue was excellent, too, as the stage was set up on a barge in the water.
There was a huge number of people who joined the celebrations. By the time the program started, the wharf was full of people making moving about a bit uneasy. The sky was overcast as well but this did not dampen the mood which was festive all throughout. There was a great time of praise and worship and some testimonies as to how the Lord blessed the church from its beginnings.

The Eye
It is undeniable that for us parents, ensuring the welfare of our children is of great importance. It is no surprise why a lot of parents still check on their children even if these ‘then kids’ are already well in their adulthood. It just goes on and on. I think this parental character has given rise to the popularity of term life insurance investments. It is probably one of the good investments to make.
Anyway, parents will always be parents no matter how old their children are. And we all know that more often than not, this ‘reflex’ to keep an eye on kids is further extend to grandchildren.
